Many people ask me what it is exactly that I do as a professional violist. In response to those questions, I thought I would list out the areas I focus on to help you determine whether I am a good fit for your occasion. See the list of opportunities I provide below…
WORSHIP TEAM::.
My heart is to worship God through my instrument. I feel this is my calling and my passion. I am able to come in and partner alongside your established worship team or provide a team of worshipers for your event.
LIVE PERFORMANCE::.
I mostly play for singer/songwriters. Many times it will be a stripped down acoustic band with vocals, guitar, percussion and myself. I also play for events and showcases where the band is full with vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, and keyboard. I am confident playing with other string players as well.
RECORDING SESSIONS::.
I am able to read chord charts, number charts and sheet music. I am also able to arrange parts for the songs. I focus only on viola but have a full list of violinists and cellists that I partner with to complete the session with a full string section.
ORCHESTRA::.
I have a classical degree from Illinois State University and am able to read music at a professional level.
WEDDINGS::.
I am willing and able to play what ever you desire for the most part. I have played as the solo instrument, with a piano or guitar to accompany me. I have also coordinated and played with quartets and other small string ensembles.
